Sunday Seven

Back! I’ve been busy doing random little things and getting my life together. Because I only work part time, my schedule has been off balance for the last couple weeks… add to that the sudden realization that I actually have a half marathon to run in 3 weeks! I’ve been getting my ass in gear.

Yesterday I went running. I started off nice and easy, bopping my first 3 miles in just shy of 30 minutes, but as I rounded into the second 3 miles there was an older couple running ahead of me. From the looks of their easy lope, they were both experienced runners… so naturally I set the goal to catch up and stay ahead of them. I managed to stay ahead of the gentleman until the last 500 meters when he just pulled ahead and demolished me. I loved every minute of my last 3 miles because I felt that competitive fire again… and let me tell you, that guy? Kept me on my toes! We had a good natured talk afterwards, like only runners can. I always find it wonderful to talk to other runners because there is something about our heads that work the same way. Anyway, what started as a good run, ended up being totally amazing because of that couple that I “raced” with. I rounded my second 3 miles in just under 26 minutes, a decent enough pace to wake up a little sore.

This past week, I’ve also thrown out about a dozen eggs trying to make popovers. I’m still not friends with the recipes, but I’ll update you once I’ve stopped wrangling with the proportions.

And as always, here are some pictures!! If you follow me on twitter or instagram, some of these photos might be repeats, but I’ll try my best to show you guys, in pictures, the things I’ve appreciated the last few weeks that I’ve missed posting here.

Love;

Sunday Seven

I’m back, I’m back. My Sunday Seven was delayed due to some really weird circumstances. Quick trip to DC, NY, two car repair shops, and 4 hours in miserable traffic, and I’m back. I promise! I tried posting from my car while sitting in dead traffic…. but my phone was uncooperative.

So… my last week’s Sunday Seven…

ONE: Funny advertising for salads.

Sunday Seven

… I was taking a shower when I realized I didn’t post my Sunday Seven. But, I have a good excuse. I’ve been actually behaving and focusing on studying so I haven’t taken many pictures this week. So, without further ado, the Sunday Seven (minus pictures).

  1. Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate with Caramel – Seriously… this chocolate is just so darned good I ate it for dinner twice this week.
  2. Basa Fish Bites – Also, delicious and totally amazing.
  3. Plastic Bead Organizers – I bought some from Michael’s for $2 a pop and I spent a few hours organizing my room as a study break. I feel so much more organized and happy. I might go back and buy more to put my make up and other knickknacks away in
  4. Little oranges (clementines?) – the Cuties brand ones are just so darned cute and delicious
  5. Using up a whole highlighter in a single sitting… because it means I actually did a lot of work!! (Nerd Alert!!!)
  6. Mini cans of coca-cola… I love the smaller 90 calorie cans. Cuter, and the perfect amount of soda.
  7. Totally and utterly random craft projects. I watched an hour of TV and made a giant fuzzy pompom. Awesome!

What about you guys? What have you guys been enjoying this last week? (albeit a little delayed!)

Sunday Seven

I’m a day late, but I still named my post “Sunday Seven” because it is actually a combination of the things I liked from last week. I’m running a bit behind because I had family visiting from Korea. I love having guests, but unfortunately this time I wasn’t nearly as fun since I am still studying for my bar exam (slowly… very slowly). Anyway – on to the list and pictures!!

FIRST:

Hearts of Palm – I always forget how much I enjoy eating these, but my sister and mother recently picked up a few jars and I demolished them… and then went and bought more. I love them cold out of the fridge. I didn’t take a picture, but you should watch this awesome video about how hearts of palm are harvested… the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5Xck6FjmV4

SECOND:

The ice and snow in the woods… and capturing these stunning icicles!

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

THIRD:

Remembering to take my camera while walking my dog, so I can capture moments like these: SONY DSC

SONY DSC

FOURTH:

Quinoa Cakes – a new recipe I came up with using leftovers in the fridge and turned out AMAZING. I’ll post the recipe in the next couple of days

SONY DSC

FIFTH:

These gorgeous macaroons that my cousins brought over for dessert. Seriously delicious and beautifully colored!

SONY DSC

SIXTH:

Chapstick. The original boring one! I was out and forgot a lip product and felt that my lips were too dry… so I went back to my high school standby and I fell in love with it all over again!

SEVENTH:

And… my readers!! I’m so thankful that you visit and read and give me motivation to keep up my little blog!

_______

What were your “favorites” from this week??

Sunday Seven

Eeek! I almost forgot that today was SUNDAY!! The weeks have just been whizzing by and I’m still studying… I need to do more!

Anyway! Here are my seven… I’ll have to load pictures later (also… I’ve figured out Instagram… so I put a little link in the left hand side bar. Click away! You can see live updates of what I’m doing!)

  1. Almond Hazelnut Scones with chunks of cherries and chocolate. DIVINE! (I’m posting this recipe TOMORROW!)
  2. Pretty Socks to keep my feet warm while I study and to brighten up my day
  3. Random nice people. Like the guy at the gas station who couldn’t get my gas cap open (and might have jammed it even more…) but was super nice and friendly even though his fingers were probably breaking off in the cold.
  4. Coconut Water… I’m unusually thirsty today so I’m really loving anything liquid. I think I drank 4 of them today plus two huge bottles of water. So. Thirsty.
  5. Miniatures of anything… I love mini mint tins and teeny little binder clips. They make my day
  6. Great shopping deals. I just got this amazing summer dress on super super sale, and I’m thrilled. I’ll share pictures once it is warm enough to wear
  7. Beautiful shoes… because no matter what I just like having beautiful things on my feet. I recently opened a box of boots that I’ve had fo a while, and they still make me smile. Pretty!

Sunday Seven

Yeah… I have one picture from this week, which is not to say I didn’t have a good week. It’s just been a little less dominated by me squinting behind my camera (or iPhone as it were).

  1. Friendships that, despite their oddity, make you a happy person.
  2. Flu shots, because even though it knocked me on my ass for 3 days, I feel a little less crazy about staying away from people while I study. Less crazy is always good.
  3. Roasted vegetables, because they are delicious, easy, and healthy
  4. Finally getting into the groove of things for studying
  5. Beautiful days… because looking outside while I study helps cheer me up. It’s just so crisp and clear out!
  6. Pizza. No seriously… there is this place near by that I have been going to eat pizza since I was a child. It makes my day. I don’t go frequently, but it’s one of those things that just makes everything a little better. Nostalgia, perhaps.
  7. Running. Running and running. It’s always on my list, but especially today because I went for a run and everything was good. No pain, no discomfort. Just plain good running.

Sunday Seven

Sorry about the delay… I’ve been feeling under the weather and behind on studying so I was a bit sidetracked today!

My Sunday Seven!

  1. My older sister, for coming home this weekend and taking my mind off everything that has been creeping under my skin.
  2. My younger sister, for cheering me up in the 3 line chat we managed to squeeze in! I miss her dearly.
  3. Chia Seeds! They make everything a little jello-y and yummy!
  4. This amazing chocolate my sister brought me… Salazon Chocolate
  5. Funny little things – like getting my pants stuck in the door!
  6. Beautiful foggy days
  7. Friends, that no matter how long it has been, they still “get” you and manage to make you laugh about stuff,
